I'm going to be watching all the princess films, but I'm going to start with the ones I've already got so they aren't going to be in chronological order. I have 'The Little Mermaid' on video but my video machine is broken, so I'll have to put that one off till I buy the DVD.
I used to love Disney as a little girl, and if I'm honest not much has changed. I've seen a lot of criticism about Disney, particularly Disney princesses, at risk of taking fairy tales too seriously, I decided to research the stories that Disney based their princesses on, as well as the things which people find unacceptable about them. I'm trying to look at this from a neutral point of view but being a Disney lover I may slip into a bit of bias, just a friendly warning. I want these to be more like discussion topics, rather than for or against arguments. If you have any input or you feel I have said something incorrect, go ahead and correct me, I like to learn and if I have been misinformed I'd love to be able to correct that. I want to use this almost like a project. I apologise that I may make many mistakes in my posts, cursed with dyslexia, so if you see "ahve" instead of "have" that's why. I'll try and make my posts as readable as possible though!
